THE PRIVACY SHITE

Short version: I build websites, not a secret empire harvesting your personal details.

CONTACT MESSAGES

If you use the Contact page, your name, email address, subject and message are stored privately in the site's Cloudflare D1 database so I can read it and reply. They are not displayed publicly.

Your IP address is hashed and stored with the message to help limit abuse. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule, so contact messages are kept until they are manually deleted when they are no longer needed.

SPAM CHECKS

The contact form and guestbook use Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile processes verification data through Cloudflare to decide whether a submission looks genuine. The form does not receive or store your Turnstile secret.

OTHER SERVICES

The site uses Cloudflare Pages, Pages Functions and D1 to host pages and store submissions. Google Fonts may be requested to display the site's typography. Articles containing YouTube videos load those videos from YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed domain.

External links, such as Patreon and the sites in the Friends box, have their own privacy policies and tracking practices. Once you leave RuggedScot, their rules apply.

QUESTIONS

If you want a contact message removed or have a question about this policy, use the Contact page and say so. I cannae promise a fancy legal department, but I can read an email.
