Good Guy, Good Guy, Wank!
Good Guy, Good Guy, Wank!
“Good guy. Good guy. Wank!”
If you grew up watching Chewin’ the Fat, you’ll probably have that voice in your head already.
What a fucking brilliant wee sketch.
No complicated storyline, no fancy special effects, just folk pointing at other folk and deciding whether they were a good guy or a complete wank.
And somehow, it was absolutely hilarious.
Everybody Was Getting Judged
The beauty of this sketch was how ridiculously simple it was.
Didn’t matter who you were, what you were doing or whether you’d even opened your mouth.
You were either a good guy or a wank.
That was it. No appeals process. No second chances. Your fate had been decided.
And it wasn’t just people getting judged either. Ducks, gingerbread men, the lot. Nobody was safe from the Scottish justice system.
You can just imagine a couple of daft bastards sitting in the pub coming up with this idea, then realising they’d struck comedy gold.
Watch the Classic Sketch
Admit It, You’ve Done It Yourself
Don’t even pretend you’ve never played this game.
Sitting in the pub with your mates, watching folk walking past, quietly deciding who’s sound and who’s an absolute bellend.
Or somebody at work does you a favour.
Good guy.
Some other bastard nicks your milk out the fridge.
Wank.
It’s the sort of daft humour that made Chewin’ the Fat so good. Everybody understood it, everybody could join in, and before long the whole of Scotland was repeating it.
More than twenty years later, it’s still funny.
And if you’re sitting there reading this thinking the sketch was shite?
Well…
Wank!
